In order to properly remove Pepakura pieces from the paper they were printed on, they must be cut out. There are a number of ways to do this, each with its benefits and drawbacks.

There are a few options for cutting out a Pepakura piece.

- Pros - Precise, sharp cuts, high degree of control.
- Cons - Can be straining on finger joints, time consuming.
- Scissors
- Pros - Fast, low strain cutting.
- Cons - Imprecise, low control, rougher cuts.
- Hobby Cutting Machines
- Pros - Cuts Pepakura in a fast, automated process with good precision.
- Cons - Limited knowledge base, expensive uni-tasking machine.
- Laser Cutting
- Pros - Fast (to cut), high precision, zero physical strain, ability to cut multiple sheets at once.
- Cons - Requires an expensive machine, requires computer setup.
